Dühös bejegyzést írt a Greenpeace Románia a közösségi oldalra, mert a vízügyi és erdészeti miniszter újra elhalasztja a kitermelt fák nyomonkövetésére használt informatikai rendszer fejlesztését. A zöld aktivisták szerint ez azt jelenti, hogy Ioan Denes miniszter nem veszi komolyan az illegális fakitermelések problémáját. Ez a halasztás az illegális fakitermeléseknek kedvez és ez a miniszternek sincs ellenére.(forrás Facebook)

Certej proposal blocked: Cluj Tribunal cancels urban plan for the mine
Cluj-Napoca/ Romania 15. January 2019 – Mining Watch Romania is pleased to announce a major legal victory against the Deva Gold mine proposal at Certeju de Sus. The Cluj Tribunal has cancelled the zonal urban plan (“Planul Urbanistic Zonal – PUZ”) required for permitting the mine site. On November 14 and 15, 2018, an informal IUCN field visit to Romania’s Domogled – Valea Cernei and Semeneic – Cheile Carasului national parks took place upon invitation by IUCN member organisation EuroNatur. The background for this excursion is the growing concern among scientists and civil society organisations about the rapidly proceeding loss of virgin and natural forest areas in Romania due to proceeding industrial logging.

Primary forest research project REMOTE calls for urgent protection of high nature and science value forests in Romania
In late December 2018, the REMOTE project (REsearch on MOuntain TEmperate Primary Forests) published a worrying report highlighting immediate threats to their outstanding primary forest research program in the Fagaras Mountains in the Romanian Carpathians.
The Fagaras mountains, the highest in Romania, host the “largest areas of primary forests in the entire EU“, the report explains. Scientists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia estimate a total surface of primary forest of about 10,000 hectares in the region. In addition, further extensive areas are covered by other valuable natural forests, which “connect primary forest localities into larger complexes of high naturalness“. Therefore, the Fagaras Mountains deserve “special attention and conservation“.

Romania is celebrating taking the presidency of the European Union for the first time, but it's already proving controversial.
The Romanian government is facing widespread allegations of corruption and mismanagement. Environmental activists have told Al Jazeera the government has been complicit in the destruction of some of Europe's oldest and vital forests.

A japánok, az erdők és Schweighofer
Rég várt erdőkkel kapcsolatos hírekről számol be a de-clic petícióportál. A de-clic kampányosa az EIA (Enviromental Investigation Agency)aktivistáival Japánban tartózkodik és a Holzindustrie Schweighofer japán üzleti partnereivel tárgyal.
Azért utaztak Japánba, hogy tájékoztassák az ottani cégeket arról a Romániában köztudott tényről, hogy a Holzindustrie Schweighofer cégtől vásárolt fa illegális vágásból is származik. Mivel az osztrák cég által értékesített famennyiség fele Japánba hajózik, így az aktivisták lényegében Schweighofer öt legfontosabb üzleti partnerével találkoztak.
Az osztrák cég visszaéléseit bemutató rendezvényen több mint hatvanan jelentek meg, újságírók, vállalatok vezetői és zöld aktivisták.
Antoniu Bumb kampányos szerint nagyon jó híreket kaptak, mert a Sojitz cég ultimátumot adott az osztrák cégnek: ha 2020-ig nem biztosítja a faanyag reális nyomonkövethetőségét, megszüntetik velük az együttműködést. Remélik, hogy más cégek is ugyanígy fognak eljárni. A japán Állami Erdészeti Ügynökség megígérte, hogy nyárig elkészít egy tanulmányt mindazokról a lehetséges törvénytelenségekről, amik azokban a falerakatokban zajlanak, ahonnan Schweighofer vásárol.

Napelemes okostelefonok kémlelik a fatolvajokat már a székelyföldi erdőkben is
A technológiát eddig esőerdőkben tesztelték, olyan országokban, ahol nagy probléma az erdők eltűnése, Amazóniában, Kongóban, vagy Indiában. Románia az első mérsékelt égövi ország, ahol tesztelik a felszerelést. A 2017 májusában egy Kovászna megyei erdőben elhelyezett riasztóberendezés eddig nagyon szépen teljesített, túlélte a telet. A fákra erősített, napelemmel működő okostelefonok segítségével a fák "segítségért kiálthatnak", ha láncfűrészt, teherautót vagy lövést hallanak.

Megszavazták a költségvetést a Retyezát leaszfaltozására- írja ma az Agent Green a közösségi oldalon. Arról a bizonyos DN 66A nevű főútról van szó. Az elmúlt évtizedekben az összes nagy romániai zöld szervezet tiltakozott a természetvédelmi területeket átszelő beruházás ellen. A Greenpeace Románia, az Agent Green és a WWF Románia egyaránt kampányolt. Most kezdhetjük újból.

EU dragged to court for backing forest biomass as ‘renewable energy’
A group of plaintiffs from Estonia, France, Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, and the US are filing a lawsuit against the European Union on Monday (4 March) to challenge the inclusion of forest biomass in the bloc’s renewable energy directive.
If they get their way, this could deprive the EU of an energy source which currently makes up close to 60% of the bloc’s renewables, more than solar and wind power combined.
The precedent-setting case will be filed with the EU court in Luxembourg today (4 March) by a group of affected individuals and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Agent Green has submitted a formal statement to the Transport Ministry which includes profound critique of this retrograde and unlawful attempt to override nature conservation legislation for profit. Today, April 1st, the deadline for amending the draft law by the Romanian government ends. The government’s legislative draft would allow road construction even in strictly protected zones within national parks and prior to the completion of any environmental impact assessment.

A dolog pikantériája, hogy a mérgezést a famaffiának tulajdonítja. Doina Pană a Tudose-kormányban volt miniszter 2017-ben, de a mérgezést csak 2018-ban mutatták ki. Állítólag a Szervezett Bűnözés és Terrorizmus Elleni Igazgatóság vizsgálódik.
